Abstract

Slow-speed engines are used as the main power plants on modern sea-going ships. There are many different modifications of such engines, but the most commonly used engines are MAN B&W and Vertsila Zulzer. These are engines with a number of advantages: high reliability, relatively low fuel consumption, compactness. The reliability of the engine depends, first of all, on the durability of the part of the cylinder-piston group. They are under severe operating conditions, namely high temperature, pressure, and the presence of a corrosive environment. Before the hour of exploitation of the engine's parts, it deforms, undergoes corrosion and erosion, they create tremors, the structure and technical power change. All defects can grow on the surface and in the parts. The high power of the engine is due to the lack of factors: the choice of the material of the parts, the method of rejecting the work pieces, the attention to the technology of preparing the parts, folding to the assembly, the quality of the fire and oils, the daily and the quality service. With the design and preparation of parts, the moving parts can be made very economically, efficiently and reliably. All that can be secured only in the same way, when preparing, repairing, folding parts and exploitation to get technical support. Carried out the technical evaluation of the CPG of the SSE which allows for the significant and control over the efficiency and quality of service. It is important for the advancement of the modernization of the CPG of the SSE the correct choice of material and the provision of the current changing technologies for the renovation and repair of the CPG of the SSE.
