Abstract

The problem associated with the recalculation of parameters of fatigue curves expressed by a power equation and the Weibull equation is considered. It is related to the fact that there is a need to compare the results of fatigue resistance tests obtained by different authors. In addition, the recalculation of parameters can be used to determine the endurance limit by the position of the inclined section of the fatigue curve. To solve the problem of mutual recalculation of parameters, several methods were proposed, which, due to the assumptions made, were approximate. The paper proposes a new approach to solving this problem. In particular, it is proposed to use the least squares method in integral form. As a result of the investigation, it was established that the calculation of parameters by the classical least squares method approaches the results obtained by the integral least squares method and is avoided with a large number of experimental points. Testing the proposed method for recalculating parameters on samples of different shapes made of structural steel grades confirmed its theoretical validity and showed high accuracy.
