The academic journal “Herald of Odessa National Maritime University” was founded in 1997. Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor Yuriy Leonidovich Vorobyov played a significant role in establishing the journal as an academic publication. The journal publishes exclusive articles in Ukrainian and English (at the author’s discretion) that are not intended for publication in other journals (Certificate of State Registration of a Print Media Outlet: Series KV No. 24106-13946 R dated July 25, 2019).

This journal is intended for researchers, university faculty, graduate students, and candidates for academic degrees, as well as professionals engaged in addressing issues in the maritime sector and related sectors of the national economy. The editor-in-chief of the collection is Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A.V. Konoplov. The editorial board consists of 6 domestic and 2 foreign scientists from Azerbaijan and Italy.

All articles published in the journal undergo peer review by leading experts in the relevant fields, as well as scientific, general, and technical editing by the editorial staff.

Since its founding in 1997, the journal has been published quarterly, with a print run of 100 copies and a volume of 9–10 printed sheets.

The journal is included in the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine in which the results of dissertations for the degrees of Doctor of Science and PhD, Category B (Technical Sciences), may be published (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1409 dated November 26, 2020, Appendix 3).
