Modeling transient operation modes of electric power sources of propeller electric plants on electric ships
Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of the study is to develop a generalized mathematical model of transient operating modes of electric power sources in propulsion electric plants. Methodology. The need for a unified description of electric power processes in energy sources of any type, included in a propulsion electric plant, is substantiated. The description is based on a unified approach to constructing a mathematical model of transient modes of an electric power source as an integral part of the propulsion electric plant of the electric ship propulsion system. Results. A universal form of recording transient modes in electric power sources is proposed. The main relationships between the input and output parameters of the source are identified when it is operating on any electric power converters and on any propulsion electric motors. A universal option of generating control signals for electric power converters for different types of propulsion electric motors is proposed. The possibility of using the developed mathematical apparatus in calculating the main operating parameters of electric machine generator units in maneuvering modes of electric ships is illustrated. Scientific novelty and practical significance. The model is universal. As specific cases, mathematical models of transient processes for all existing and prospective types of power sources in electric ship propulsion systems follow from it.A unified mathe-matical apparatus allows carrying out a comparative analysis of the performance indicators of any type of power source and evaluating the prospects of their use in electric propulsion systems.
